For the love of Writing…

Never ruin an apology with an excuse.”
– Unknown

It’s been a while. Excuses can be many but intentions have to be pure and plausible. So my heartfelt apologies for not been able to minister time to the blog. Believe it or not, it was always there in my mind, conscious and subconscious playing a remorse card amidst all the pressing engagements, being intensely tied up and living. In simple words, I missed being here. I write because I love writing; from my heart and of course to be read too.

Hope springs eternal. I do hope that I would be keeping a hold oftentimes from now on. Few days back I was delighted to be published in the much acclaimed Huffingtonpost India. The feeling of wonder, delight is of no essence if I don’t acknowledge and value my readers, for whom I stand contended today.

What’s in a day !

What's in a day !

“What is women’s day mom?”…..

Few days back my kid asked me this question. And I explained him with my whatsoever ability that it’s a day dedicated to all women in respect, love and appreciation for what they do or contribute to a family or society in large.
But I failed somehow with my words as it was a little obscure and puzzling for him(being a six year old boy). So I had to make it simpler and tell him that since a woman is a mother and gives birth and takes care of the baby and the family like i do with lots of love, we thank them and appreciate them this day. We do the same for you as we acknowledge your effort, when you behave as a good boy.

I didn’t want to bombard his untainted psyche with stuffs like a woman’s fight and struggle for equality and respect in all aspects of society from generations as basic human right is an ongoing process. And the women’s day being one of the nominal manner to reconcile with that. That the battle still continues every walk of life for her to prove to be an equal counterpart. The road ahead is tough and taxing but that every civilisation has to go through this swirl and churn for what it stands for today, for better.

Then it struck in my mind. So,what is it that I do to contribute ? The very first thing I can do for being a mother to a son is to imbibe right set of values; as to respect woman and womanhood in true sense and treat them as equal being. That’s the basic. There are times when everything fails, all we need to do is to keep life simple and start from the basic.

So I say what’s in a day! Everyday is a women’s day if we value a woman everyday as much as we value a man too.

“Mama, Why don’t we celebrate Men’s day?”

That’s a million dollar question. Let me tell you I was not ready for this. But the story does not end here. This one I save it for some other heyday. Until then love and respect, equally and unbiased for all.
